ENZO VISSER

Variables
With Variables, I use self-portraiture to perform different roles, types, ideas and understandings of what a man looks like, is like and should be like. Through these images, I am to demystify my findings and make these men real, tangible and sensitive.

Series of 20 self-portraits.

2025 - ongoing

ABOUT

Enzo Visser (b. 1998) is a photographer born in Ede, Gelderland, whose practice deals with topics like identity, sexuality and self-portraiture. Inspired by the Dutch greats of photography and film, he explores the idea of male vulnerability through the lense of absence; what can we photograph that we have yet to experience? How do our experiences, or sometimes lack thereof, shape us?

SergejA visual reimagining of Sergej Rachmaninov's Prelude in C-Sharp Minor Op. 3 No. 2, which came to him after a dream in which he wandered down a church towards a coffin, only to open it and see himself laying in it. A tale of the confrontation of mortality and the inevitable grief that follows it, told through passively moving vignettes consisting of masked figures and still lives.
